Tell Illinois Governor to Vote NO on Bobcat Hunting Bill!

An increase in Illinois' bobcat population has sparked legislators to establish a hunting season for them. The state's House of Representatives and Senate both passed SB 352, which aims to let hunters kill one cat each from November 1st to February 15th.

It is up to Illinois' governor Bruce Rauner to make the final decision regarding the bill.

Native predators play an important role in any ecosystem. They control prey animals such as rabbits, which would otherwise become overpopulated and decimate crops. Creating a hunting season for bobcats would encourage cruelty toward these animals. Please sign the petition to urge Gov. Bruce Rauner to reject the bobcat hunting bill!

We, the undersigned, are concerned about SB 352, which aims to establish a hunting season for bobcats. We understand that the House and Senate both passed the bill, and it is up to you to make the final decision.

We believe that native predators like bobcats play an important role in the ecosystem. They control prey animals such as rabbits, which would otherwise become overpopulated and decimate crops. Creating a hunting season for bobcats would encourage cruelty toward these animals. We respectfully urge you to reject the bobcat hunting bill. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
