Call For Connecticut To Secede From The United States

In response to President Elect Trump, I am calling for the state of Connecticut to secede from the United States. Trump's ideas are far too dangerous and do not coincide with the values and beliefs of the people of Connecticut. We have always been a safe, accepting and progressive state and we cannot allow Trump to undo that. We must stand tall and proud, and by allowing us to secede, we will be able to uphold everything the people of Connecticut hold dear to our hearts. There is no explicit law, amendment, code or bill that says we cannot secede. Doing so would allow us to keep the laws we already have here in CT. We must do everything we can in order to protect our people and preserve our state. Let us be a leading example that so many need right now. Some have even made the argument that secession is a constitutional right, for one or more states to have the RIGHT to break away from the union. There is a growing percentage of people that support this right and we deserve to break away from the union, as it is imperative to our rights and safety. We should not have to follow the dangerous, extremist views of a "president" who was not even elected by the people. We did not want this, we did not ask for this. I call for the president, the governor and any authority who can make this happen to support it. If Trump and Pence are not impeached, imprisoned or the likes, we deserve the right to protect our rights by secession. This is a realistic and reasonable request. Please sign.
