Tell Republicans in Congress to stop blocking protection of abortion rights

Arizona's Supreme Court just upheld an extreme anti-abortion law from 1864 – before Arizona became a state and before women had the right to vote – which outlaws nearly all abortions and calls for imprisonment of doctors who provide them. 

This hasn't been law in Arizona for decades, but the Republican-appointed judges are single handedly imposing it anyway.  

This is abhorrent. And while Republicans in Arizona and elsewhere are trying to distance themselves from this draconian ruling, the fact is they've been fighting nonstop for abortion bans and celebrating the overturning of Roe v. Wade.  

And it is Republicans who are blocking Congress from protecting abortion rights – which Congress could do with a single vote.  It's time for them to get out of the way and allow Congress to codify abortion rights into law. Lives are on the line.
