Canada: Stop Underfunding Alzheimer's Research

Alzheimer's disease is a major disease affecting Canadians every day. If we don't take action now to reduce the incidence of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, 1.4 million people will have Alzheimer's disease by 2031. That's just 15 years away.

So what are we doing as a country to end Alzheimer's?

Research will bring us closer to a future without Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Funding for dementia research is getting more attention, but compared to other major diseases in Canada like cancer and HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's research is grossly underfunded. In 2011, cancer research received 16 times more funding than Alzheimer's disease research!

We can't afford to ignore Alzheimer's disease any longer. The impact is overwhelming on the people who develop it and the families who care for them.

Please sign on in support of Alzheimer's research today. We need a government that's committed to Alzheimer's research, not one that fails to close the gap.
