Pledge to Spay or Neuter Your Pet and Help Solve Ontario's Pet Overpopulation!

Pet overpopulation in Ontario is reaching critical levels, one of the main causes being animals left unaltered.

It is estimated by cat rescue organizations that the number of feral cats living on the streets is the equivalent of your community's population, divided by 17. In the Greater Toronto Area alone, it is estimated by local cat rescue organizations that the number of homeless cats living on the streets is close to 500,000. Spaying and neutering is a straightforward medical procedure with many health benefits, including a reduction in the risk of developing certain cancers and illnesses.

Some say that spay/neuter interferes with nature — they forget that domesticated dogs and cats are completely dependent on humans. It is our responsibility as their guardians to ensure that the number of companion animals born does not exceed the number of available homes. You can help Ontario's pet overpopulation!

Pledge to spay or neuter your pet, and spread the word to your friends and family about its importance. Together, we can ensure that there are no longer unwanted pets and conserve the vital resource of our animal shelters.
