Email your MP candidates: will you #keeptheban on fox hunting?

Theresa May has promised that if the Conservatives win in the general election on 8 June 2017, she will offer parliament a vote to repeal the ban on fox hunting.

Theresa May said, "As it happens, personally I have always been in favour of fox hunting".

Fox hunting is a horrifically cruel bloodsport that was outlawed in the UK in 2004, by the Labour government. In a hunt, a fox is chased by bloodhounds which, when the exhausted fox is caught, will rip the fox to shreds until it dies.

Over 80% of the UK public want the fox hunt ban to remain, yet the Tories are ignoring public opinion in favour of a cruel hobby for a few people. It is clear that Theresa May and the Conservatives will not protect animals or create a culture of respect for British wildlife.

In comparison, Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the Labour Party, has said, "I pledge that a Labour government in 2020 will continue to advance our animal welfare protections so that they are the best in the world."

Great news! Jeremy Corbyn says fox hunting is "barbarity" and pledges to keep it banned: watch video. Conversely, Theresa May has threatened to hold a parliamentary vote on repealing the ban.
