It's time for Utah to say goodbye to coal

In 2024, the Energy Independence Amendments passed at the Utah legislature making Utahns dependent on dangerous and costly coal. These bills weakened longstanding regulations that protect consumers from high energy prices and utility mismanagement. These amendments also keep coal plants running past their announced 2032 closure date - letting a toxic relationship continue that needs to end

At WRA, we're fighting to make sure the state doesn't put utility profits over the health of Utahns.

We envision a thriving future for Utah with crisp and clean air, a Great Salt Lake restored to its greatness and the protection of the landscapes, from the red rock desert to Cottonwood powder, that Utahns take great pride in.

Join WRA as we push for stronger clean energy and clean transportation commitments that will result in a healthier and thriving Utah.
