A Demand for Label Changes to Have the Species Strictly Defined Included in Pet and Animal Foods Rat

There is anecdotal and other evidence of euthanised cats and dogs and various "roadkill" being included in pet and animal food. So that we do not subject our animals to cannibalism unknowingly, we ask each species included in said foods be stated specifically in the ingredients, rather than simply "meat by-products".

We, the undersigned, demand that Congress, as well as all 50 state governments, take action to have the ingredients in pet and animal foods further specified as stated in this document's title and summary.
We find the present meaning "meat by-products" to be abhorrent, insufficient, and a concession to the animal and pet food industry devoid of concern for domesticated animals and their owners/companions.
