It hurts to realise the court of Zimbabwe has effectively legalised the age for consensual sex to be 12 years for our girls. Girls are still children at 12. I'm calling upon every woman, friend, parent, brother, organisations and all the charities supporting human rights to help sign this petition. Lets stand up together and fight legalised pedophilia in Zimbabwe!! Say NO to legalised rape.
At the age of 12 a girl is incapable of making her own decisions with regards to sex. Lowering this age exposes her to high risks of being sexually abused and of sex offenders walking away free because the law favours them -- they are bound to claim she consented to sex.
Help me protect our girls. Please sign this petition and ask the courts of Zimbabwe to reject this new legislation by capping it at the age of 18 so our girls are well protected.
Dear all, As a woman and mother to young little girl, it now scares me to note that she's no longer safe in Zimbabwe walking alone in the streets either going to school or playing outside with her friends, for it has become easier for sex offenders to walk away free with the new legislation protecting them. The question I ask now is where are the lawmakers and protectors of our little girls and human rights activists? Who is going to offer that blanket net of protection now that those in charge are making it easy and protecting the same people who stand as threats to the very livelihood of our children. I say it is up to us as mothers, woman friends, parents and all organisations who stand up for children and human rights, to fight against this nightmare crippling on our door steps!
