Demand the zambian authorities not to destroy surviving ‘Mukushi Dogs’ confiscated in suspected meat trade deal

A truck containing 70 dogs in a closed container bound for the Congo/Zambian border was intercepted earlier this week. Tragically all but 21 dogs suffocated to death while the vet was seeking an urgent court order for all the dogs to be shot immediately.
Unbelievably the court order for the dogs to be destroyed tomorrow still stands. This is IN SPITE of numerous donations and local animal welfare organizations assurances that the surviving dogs can be rescued, treated, and rehabilitated.
It is suspected that these dogs were stolen and destined to be sold into the meat trade.
