Stop this Insane Clearcut on Bull's Island

In an extreme over-reaction to the tragic death of a camper, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is proposing to clearcut 6 acres of massive 200 year old trees on Bull's Island State Park along the Congressionally designated Wild & Scenic Delaware River.

This magnificent  floodplain forest provides habitat for rare migratory songbirds, including Cerulean warbler and Yellow-throated warbler and other protected plants and animals. Bull's Island is a beautiful key component of the D&R Canal State Park, one of the nation's most recognized linear corridor parks.

Stop this insane clearcut - call DEP Commissioner Martin and demand that he withdraw this harebrained scheme
