On the morning of the shooting, teachers warned administrators about the boy's behavior, but nothing was done. After rumors the child had a gun, an administrator was warned. Again, nothing was done. When a teacher requested to search the child for the gun, administrators said to wait until after school. Why were school administrators so careless about a serious threat?
The child should have never had access to a gun in the first place, but the fact that the administration failed to act when told about the gun is horrifying.
