A show called "Pooch Perfect" is being run in Australia, pitting dog owner against dog owner in a battle to see who can groom their pets the best and in doing so exposing the animals to harmful dyes and unnecessary styling techniques.

Act Now! Send a message to the The ACMA (Australia Communications and Media Authority) and urge them to enforce stricter rules regarding animal abuse on Australian Television!

The premise for this show is to highlight grooming transformations, although some of the changes show many of the dogs being heavilly groomed and dyed for viewership numbers and media profit. The motivation to do this is heavilly influenced by the cash prize offered to the winner of this show and the welfare of the animals isn't prioritised as a result. Animals like dogs trust humans to keep them safe and loved, but shows like Pooch Perfect are a prime example of what can happen when people are encouraged to take extreme measures in the name of money and fame.

The risks associated with extreme grooming under pressure can include toxic shock poisonng, stress and allergic reactions. At what point will people say enough is enough and start taking action agaist cruelty to animals for the benefit of human entertainment?

Sign now and urge the Australian Communications and Media Authority to flag this show as animal abuse and start making changes to the laws relating to animals in the media!
