Citizens demanding stiffer penalties and possible jail time for animal abuse

There has been a rash of animal abuse stories in the news recently and the people doing the abuse are basically getting a fine and told to stop it....that's not harsh enough!!!  Animals are living creatures and should be treated as such.  They can't stop the abuse, it's up to us to help them.  We would like to see much stiffer penalties doled out to offenders and jail time is just a start.  Senator Wyden, please help us help you get something started to change some laws.
