Back in September of 2017 which was last year Cash Explosion gave it's format a facelift and after seeing about eight or nine episodes of the new show I hated it. In fact I hated it when I saw the first episode of this format. The set was so dark, they tossed Sharon Bicknell and Cherie McClain to the curb replacing them with Alissa Henry as the co-host while David McCreary is still the host and they're both terrible at hosting. They are stale and boring and they don't show any emotions at all. Now the big change was the the game play on the show. Intead of slapping the button in front of them to pick boxes for cash the contestants now pick three tiles on their own individual boards on a touch screen monitor and win whatever money is behind each number. Even worse is the Cash Challenge at the end of the show. On the surface it's played the way it should be. Contestants pick a number to reveal a name and whoever's name is revealed three times first wins the game. However it all falls apart from there. In addition to the two semifinal winners and the reigning champion can also include one or two more contestants who won an Instant Cash Challenge trip on the bonus board. Another thing is no more bonus bucks. Didn't those idiots at the Ohio Lottery Commission even learn their lesson from that awful Make Me Famous Make Me Rich show? In writing this petition the following are changes I want to see on the show.
1. Show David McCreary and Alissa Henry the door and bring back Paul Tapie, Sharon Bicknell, and Cherie McClain to host the show again.
2. Change the set back to any set from the pick boxes for cash days. It doesn't really matter which one it is as long as it's changed back.
3. Change the format back. Go back to three games on each show. Four new contestants in the semifinals and the winner of each semifinals face off against the reigning champion in the Cash Challenge. No more instant Cash Challenge. Contestants have to win the semifinal game in order to advance to the Cash Challenge. In the semifinal games, all four contestants play three turns each on the big board and hit the button in front of them to stop the board and whatever column they land on in the word Explosion they pick a letter in the rows representing the word Cash and whatever money is behind it is added into their bank. If they find a double, Explosion lights up and they hit their button again and and the letter they stop on the money behind it will double and be added to their bank. They should have six doubles on the board again too. Also add the bonus bucks back. Two worth $10,000 and one worth $25,000. If a contestants find that they win the bonus and while it's not added to their bank they dollar amount behind it is. They could also maybe bring back a bonus prize as well which would have the same rules as the bonus bucks. At the end of three turns everybody keeps whatever money they won while the contestant in the lead not only gets to keep their winnings but have it doubled and they advance to the Cash Challenge. In the Cash Challenge the two semifinal winners challenge the reigning champion and they each pick a number on the Cash Challenge board to reveal a name and whoever's name is revealed three times first is that day's winner and gets to come back on the next show. Another thing in the Cash Challenge is bring back the bonus bucks. Two worth $5,000 and one more worth $10,000. If one of those is found that contestant wins the bonus money but it doesn't effect the game in any way and the game continues.
4. Possibly bring in an announcer to introduce the next contestants or how to get on the show very similar to how John E Douglas used to do and maybe even bring back Barb McMann as the special correspondent.
5. The audience interaction also needs to come back including the "Double, Double" chant at the end of each semifinal game just as when the winning contestant's money is doubled. The new show doesn't have any of that.
That's what I'd like to see change on the show. And after the eight or nine episodes of the new Cash Explosion that I have watched this leads me to the conclusion that that it is worse than that awful Make Me Famous Make Me Rich show (or should I say Make Me Nauseous Make Me Sick) also hosted by David McCreary and he was just as bad on that show just as he is here if not worse. This comes to show that you should never try to replace something that was successful and still is and replace it with something that is complete and utter crap. The new Cash Explosion is not Cash Explosion. It's garbage
