Pets are not property, they should be recognized as sentient beings!!

In almost all 50 states animals are viewed as property in the eyes of the law therefore punishment for animal mistreatment isn't what it should be.

Just recently, a heartless man from Illinois that intentionally placed a firework in a dog's mouth was only convicted with 'destruction of property'. Most likely, he will get away with a slap on the wrist.

It's time the laws change and our courts recognize our fur babies as living beings. For most of us, they are part of the family. They have feelings, just as humans do and they should thus have the same status! Show your support now!
