Make A Hispanic Disney Princess!

The Walt Disney Company has claimed that Disney Junior's Sofia The First is a Latina princess but has failed to acknowledge it through Sofia's appearance or setting, making her appear as another Caucasian princess.

Sofia the First

Out of the 13 official and the 1 upcoming princess, There are 9 Caucasian princesses: Belle (French), Merida (Scottish), Ariel (Mermaid), Aurora, Rapunzel, Snow White, Cinderella, Elsa and Anna. There is 1 Arabian princess (Jasmine), 1 African American princess (Tiana), 1 Chinese princess (Mulan), and 1 Native American princess (Pocahontas). And as confirmed by Disney, a new princess that will arrive in theaters in 2018, Moana, who is Polynesian.

Why is it that the Walt Disney Company has put thought into almost all of the minorities around the world except the Hispanic minority, and when they do, they give the Hispanics Princess Sofia, who has blue eyes, white skin, and light brown hair; while it is true that Hispanics are physically diverse, the majority of Hispanics have brown eyes, tannish brown skin tone, and dark brown or even black hair. And to add on to that, the Walt Disney Company makes Sofia a child and only put her on a TV show, where as the other princesses shine on the big screens in the movie theaters. Please sign this petition to hopefully grab the attention of the Walt Disney Company and get them to start a film about a Hispanic princess, and fully acknowleding it in the film so that all the Hispanic little girls all over the world can have a princess who shares the same culture as a role model.
