In Private Rodeos, People "Beat the Living Daylights" Out of Animals, Just for Fun

Video evidence shows that private rodeos in northern Illinois have become hotspots for animal abuse - but so far, authorities haven't taken any action to stop this.

What are they waiting for? Demand police finally enforce laws against animal cruelty!

Drone surveillance shows riders at the rodeos violently beating horses, slapping and punching them right in the face. Yet another video depicts people torturing animals with electric prods, causing the animals to scream in pain. In a third piece of footage, someone paralyzes a deer, drags it away by its horns, and then callously shoots it to death in a barn.

That's not even including the countless oxen and steer that are violently abused during the rodeos, as humans pummel them to the ground dozens of times until their bones are broken and they lay bleeding out for hours on end.

But usually, handlers don't provide any veterinary care for the animals, simply leaving them to die slowly.

According to Steve Hindi, a member of Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK): "They're not hiding it. They know our drones are up there, that our drones are looking right at them, and they will still beat the living daylights out of these animals."

At least two different groups of animal welfare advocates say they have submitted ample evidence to the police, but there hasn't been any movement. This is despite the fact that animal cruelty is a crime in Illinois - meaning police have a legal mandate to enforce animal protection policies!

As Hindi says: "Illinois has one of the strongest humane laws in the country. We should all be very proud of that. But the enforcement gets an F. It's absolute failure."

Police are utterly failing in their duties to protect these animals, which means they have these horses' and steers' blood on their hands. Sign the petition to demand authorities finally intervene and put an end to animal cruelty at these rodeos!
