Make the Tongass National Forest a National Park

The Tongass National Forest is the Amazon Of The North. More rare and detrimental wildlife and plant species live here than most places on earth. From coastal wolves to grizzlies and the kermode, spirit bear and spawning salmon of all five species, to old growth forests that clear harmful carbon from the atmosphere. This extremely important ecosystem is in direct attack from logging to hunting and development. I ask that we give this park National Park status and put protections in place that come with this status.
