Cirkus Arnardo is coming to Norway in the end of February. They are not wanted by the majority of norwegians. Norway has not banned the use of animals in circuses even though experts have stated that the animals are suffering very much. We want to collect as many signatures as possible to show that there is opposition to this cruel treatment of animals. The signatures will be delivered directly to Arnardo with a document in which we demand that they stop using animals.
All animals in circuses suffer. They live their entire lives in cramped transport cars or chained up. Often without the opportunity to see other animals. They are almost always left alone. This is very traumatic for them. They never get the chance to express their natural needs, and they really suffer mentally as well as physically. This is demonstrated through stereotypical behavior, stagnation, apathy, and more. They are taught to do tricks that are directly harmful to them and it hurts a lot, and they are trained up by being exposed to violence and punishment every time they can not or will not perform tricks.
When the wild animals are captured, this is done in a brutal and cruel manner in which animals leashed and turned for hours every day over a long period of time so that they learn that it is no use to fight. They break them down mentally.
No animal should be tortured for entertainment. They live their entire lives in torture. For spectators this is entertainment, for the animals, this is a hell. Stop this cruelty and sign the petition, please.
