Stop killing stray dogs and initiate a humane Stray Dog Management in the City of Bar, Montenegro

Over and over again we receive messages and pictures from concerned citizens and tourists of Bar telling us about stray dogs being killed by barbarous methods such as poisoning, drowning and shooting by officials and private persons, especially before the tourist season. For this reason, many tourists decided not to visit the country again.

The life of a stray in Bar is a misery as in many other places in southeastern Europe. If they don’t starve to death or get hit by a car, sooner or later they will become victims of mercyless killing actions tolerated by the municipality. Nevertheless the stray dog population is still growing.

Therefore we want to send a signal towards the municipality of Bar showing that we care – let’s take action by telling the city of Bar to deal with the stray dog problem in a humanely way by introducing a Stray Dog Management including:

1) neutering and vaccination of stray dogs as well as owned dogs

2) building of a public animal shelter in Bar providing a safe and caring environment

3) introducing humane euthanasia methods for sick animals

4) education programs

Our organization is active in Montenegro since the year 2006 – so far together with our friends in Montenegro we have achieved the building of an animal shelter in the city of Budva, the improvement of the conditions in the public animal shelter in Kotor, neutering and vaccination actions as well as rehoming of some stray animals to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Immer und immer wieder erreichen uns Nachrichten und Bilder von besorgten Bürgern und Touristen aus Bar, die uns von den grausamen Tötungsmethoden, wie Ertränken, Vergiften und Erschießen von Straßenhunden durch Polizei und Privatpersonen  berichten, besonders vor dem Beginn der Touristensaison. Viele Touristen haben sich deswegen entschieden, das Land nicht noch einmal zu besuchen.

Das Leben eines Straßenhundes in Bar ist armselig, wie an vielen anderen Orten in Südosteuropa. Wenn sie nicht verhungern oder überfahren werden, werden sie früher oder später Opfer von gnadenlosen Massentötungen, die von der Stadt toleriert werden. Nichtsdestotrotz wächst die Population der Straßenhunde stetig.

Deshalb wollen wir ein Signal an die Stadt Bar senden um zu zeigen, dass uns die Tiere am Herzen liegen – lasst uns eingreifen, indem wir die Stadt Bar auffordern das Straßenhundeproblem auf humane Weise durch Einführung eines Straßenhunde-Managements zu lösen, dazu gehören:

1) Kastrationen und Impfungen von Straßenhunden, als auch von Familienhunden

2) der Bau eines Tierheims in Bar, wo die Tiere artgerecht untergebracht werden

3) Einführung humaner Euthanasiemethoden für kranke Tiere

4) Bildungsarbeit

Unsere Organisation ist seit 2006 in Montenegro aktiv – bisher haben wir zusammen mit unseren Freunden aus Montenegro den Aufbau eines Tierheims in der Stadt Budva erreicht, die Verbesserung der Bedingungen des städtischen Tierheims in der Stadt Kotor, Kastrations- und Impfaktionen, sowie Vermittlung einiger ehemaliger Straßentiere nach Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Luxemburg.

Bezprekidno dolaze do nas slike i vijesti od zabrinutih ljudi i turista iz Bara, koje nas abavjestavaju o groznim i neljudskim metodama ubijanja pasa ,kao sto je potopljavanje, trovanje i streljanje,koje vrse policajci i privatne osobe. Takve akcije se najvise cine pred otvaranje turisticke sezone. Jadan je taj zivot ulicnih pasa crnojgori kao i u mnogim juznoevropskim zemljama. Ako ne crknu od gladi ili nebudu zgazeni od motornih vozila bice prije ili kasnije zrtva neljndskog masovnog ubijanje,koje grad ( opstina) da tolerise. Pored svega toga raste populacija ulicnik pasa. Zbog toga hocemo mi da damo i posaljemo jedan signal gradu Baru,signal koji nas ne drzi hladnokrvinim. Mi zahtjevamo od grada Bara da taj problem rijesava na jedam humani nacin, a to bi bilo:

1. Kastriranje ,vakcina,kako ulicnin,-tako i privatnih pasa

2. Izgradnja jednog doma za takve pse, gdje bi se ljudski drzali i njegovali.

3.Uvodjenje humane Euthanasienmetode za bolesne zivotnje

4.Obrazovni posao

Nasa organizacija je od 2006 god. aktivna u crnojgori-zajedno sa nasim prijateljima iz te zemlfe , smo uspjeli i da izgradimo jedan dom za takve pse u Budvi i poboljsanje uslova gradskog doma u Kotoru akciju kastriranja i vakcine, kao i posredovanje nekih bivsih ulicnih pasa u Njemacku,Austriju, Svajcarsku i Luxemburg.
