Stop horrendous deaths of pets & other animals by banning noisy fireworks

One pet is too many to die due to being scared by outrageously noisy fireworks, but did you know that countless animals die each year due to being spooked by fireworks. This includes horses impaling themselves on fence posts and a baby zebra being scared to death (literally).

Of course pets don't just get spooked by the noise of fireworks but some are affected by the sound & even the smell. But I guess I would be asking too much for them to be banned altogether, so perhaps private council run events & similar would be a good compromise. After all they are explosives and we don't let the public buy anything else this dangerous do we?

The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) say that 1400 pets are treated every year due to firework related issues, and that is just the PDSA's statistics. They also say that 41% of dogs, 30% of cats & 16% of rabbits are afraid of fireworks. That is a lot of people's pets. And it is not just stress & mental trauma. Pets can get blocked bladder's and all sorts of other physical problems due to fireworks.

Then of course there is the wildlife that live permanently outside and do not have the relative safety of indoors to go to, as well as elderly people, & war vets that suffer from PTSD. If you a not an animal lover perhaps spare a thought for them.
