Residents of a mobile home park in Reeds Spring, Missouri, were shocked when they were put on notice that stray cats living at the park were to be killed with antifreeze.

Residents at the White Eagle Woods mobile home park received a notice from owner, Mark Rich, that asked them to "leave a bowl of antifreeze out to poison" the stray cats. The notice stated the killing would commence in October - Mr Rich denies sending it.

However, residents at the mobile home park fear the killing has already started – local media outlet KSPR found the charred remains of one cat that had been burned in a pile of debris. Moreover, residents allege they witnessed Mark Rich shooting at several cats as well as leaving out plates of cat food laced with antifreeze.

Furthermore, the note states that if the cats are not eliminated, all tenants will face a rent increase and that if any tenant is caught feeding a stray cat they will face immediate eviction.

A thorough investigation of the White Eagle Woods mobile home park must be carried out and any further attempts by Mark Rich to kill the stray cats must be stopped by local law enforcement.
