more humane treatment for chickens and hens in Nova Scotia

People in Nova Scotia eat eggs all of the time and buy the least expensive usually because it makes sense financially and most people are on a budget so $3 eggs are more attractive than $6.  The government need to put funds into more humane farming and keeping of chickens and hens.  The hens give us eggs, the chickens give us the best protein foods, yet they are kept in small cages where they can't even turn around comfortably or scratch in the ground or perch like they would normally do.  I think that the Government needs to help these animals have a better life so that we can feel good about buying eggs and chickens at the grocery store.
