A man in North Carolina
has been arrested for stomping on and kicking a dog's head and face. Luckily, someone called authorities after they heard the dog's anguish and pain. When authorities arrived, they found the dog bleeding, bruised, and with head trauma.

We don't know how many of these dogs had been abused, or how often. What experts have made clear, though, is that this animal was lucky to have survived the brutal attack.
If no one had intervened, they say it's almost certain that the dog would have died.
