Secretary Jewell- Protect Polar Bear Habitat
- af: Nyack Clancy
- mottagare: Department of the Interior, Secretary Sally Jewell
The Obama Administration is attempting to rush through a new plan that would allow oil and gas drilling in Alaska's Chukchi Sea -- home to half our nation's polar bears.
In the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, the Interior Department's headlong rush to "drill first and ask questions later" is unconscionable and unacceptable.
Stop using a Bush-era policy that short-circuits President Obama's pledge to follow a science-based approach to environmental protection. Give the polar bear full protection under the Endangered Species Act.
