Why I think people should sign this petition, number one the ruining of the view. Families go down to the Barrie's Waterfront because it is so beautiful to look at. It has the Spirit Catcher which is wonderful to look at. It has a beach that you can swim, the skyline is beautiful. You go down to the waterfront and you can see the whole of Barrie with the view. Blocking a view like that would be devastating to us, our community and even visitors.
Our number two reason is all the noise and dirt that comes from building all these condos in downtown Barrie. It will bother everyone. You won't be able to travel downtown and enjoy a quiet nice getaway during the time of construction. On top of that all the dirt and dust from these types of buildings just ruin the environment and the air that we breathe.
Our number three reason is the animal habitat. Ruining animal habitats drives them into the human habitats, where they have less chances of surviving. Animals are a major part of a healthy environment. If we keep on taking space from them we are the ones who will suffer. For example; The Northern Map Turtle was already assessed as a species of special concern when the Endangered Species Act took effect in 2008.The Northern Map Turtle Habitats are loss and degradated due to shoreline development and decline in water quality.
