Many people probably don't know the dirty secret Thailand is hiding many people in Thailand don't even know what is happening. Thailand illegally produces dog meat and trades it throughout Asia. The poachers take dogs of the streets and from inside houses that are usually unvaccinated for rabies. The rabies are then transferred into the meat which people are unknowingly eating. These poachers are getting approximately 30 billion dollars a year for their illegal business.
The dogs are forced into tightly packed cages and are then put onto trucks that travel for days through the sweltering heat without any food or water. The dogs that suffocate from under the weight of each other are the lucky ones. the small percentage of dogs that are rescued have horrible injuries such as broken bones, ruptured organs, paws and tails ripped off and open wounds.
The deaths are even worse. In addition to the horrible trip there and being suffocated under the weight of each other they can be skinned alive, boiled alive and even beaten to death. The reasons behind the gruesome deaths are because that it is believed that when the dogs are scared they release something within them that makes there meat softer.
