Give New Mexico a Better Animal Cruelty Law

       Our New Mexico animal cruelty law that is currently in place is not fully protecting animals in our state.  New Mexico is currently the fifth worst state for animal cruelty.  Tell Susanna Martinez enough is enough.

       First, for all those budding herpetologists, reptiles are NOT protected by our law in any way.  This means any form of cruelty toward a pet snake or lizard is perfectly lawful.  Not only this, the following industries are exempt from cruelty: rodeos, research facilities, and agricultural industries.  These are all industries that are notorioius for animal cruelty.

Stop this madness.  Ir's not right to provide full legal defense for one animal, and deprive it of another.
