SAVE THE SCOTTISH WILDCAT!

The Scottish Wildcat is a beautiful and charismatic animal. They are native to Scotland, but only about 50 - 150 remain.

For years they have been shot and trapped by gamekeepers in the service of landowners. Why? Because they take pheasants. These pheasants have been captive bred for shooting. YES, THE LANDOWNER WANTS THE WILDCAT DEAD SO HE CAN KILL MORE PHEASANTS.

The Scottish Wildcat is now a European protected species. Their numbers are so low they have been breeding with uneutered domestic cats. Now there is a big feral population of wild cats. But these cats are not protected by law, and the law allows them to be shot. Behind the sights of a gun at 100 yards 'accidents' will happen. The numbers of Scottish Wildcats ARE TOO LOW to sustain one accident! THE SHOOTING MUST STOP!

I call on the people of Scotland, and people everywhere, SAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL CAT!
