petition for the decriminalization of all dog breeds in the united kingdom

For too long certain breeds of dog have faced persecution in the British isles due to bad press and scare mongering. We as a people should not stand for this any longer! The laws on dangerous dogs are inhumane and immoral, a dog can be put to sleep for being a pitbull type when neither of its parents were a banned breed and there is very little we can do to stop this without facing very large legal bills and prosecution and even if you win your dog can expect a sub standard life of being castrated and restricted in case he does anything dangerous (we take far less precautions with convicted murderers, sex offenders etc.). we are a nation of dog lovers that is one of the best countries in the world for animal welfare yet our government refuses to even talk about legislation in anyway. I can do a DWA license to keep other more dangerous animals but there is no way of applying to own certain dog breeds I hope you reading this are as angry as I am about this issue and are also sick of being oppressed in a country that describes itself as being free.
