Save shelter dogs, train them for National Security

Every year millions of fine dogs are killed simply because they could not find loving homes. These dogs could be trained to serve our country by patrolling airports as well as being on board every airplane.  Every security checkpoint in every airport should have a trained dog who can do what expensive machines cannot do, sniff out plastic explosives and other dangerous materials. This would create jobs for dog handlers and other staff; we could have prisoners learn to train them for free ( programs such as these exist and been shown to be effective), and a program such as this would save not only the lives of our "best friends" but human lives and millions in tax dollars. Dogs are also more reliable than machines and they are "green." This will also stop "Racial Profiling" dogs are not racist!  Support a massive rescue effort and training program for our national security. Every plane in the skies over our country should have at least two trained dogs on board. Write your Senator. Write the President. At least sign this petition!  Save human and animal lives.   You can't fool the nose of a dog easily but machines fail. We can reduce technological dependence by  increased use of dogs today!
