Demand Stronger Protections for Workers in Poultry and Pork Industries

Every year, thousands of poultry and pork workers endure debilitating injuries due to unsafe working conditions, often at the hands of speed-driven production lines that force them to work faster than humanly possible. To make matters worse, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently proposed speeding up processing lines in meatpacking plants. This will only worsen the situation, putting more workers' lives at risk for the sake of profit.

Sign this petition to demand stronger regulations to protect workers in poultry and pork industries and halt any efforts to speed up production lines!

Workers in the poultry and pork industries are already among the most vulnerable in the workforce. Many suffer from repetitive strain injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and musculoskeletal disorders due to the fast-paced, repetitive nature of their work.

With an average of 2.8 fatalities per year and hundreds of injuries annually, we cannot allow the USDA to ignore the grave risks of speeding up production lines.

The time to act is now. The USDA's decision to ignore the importance of worker safety must be reversed. We cannot let the drive for increased profits cost workers their health and safety.

Sign this petition to demand that the U.S. Senate prioritize the safety of workers in the poultry and pork industries over corporate greed. These workers deserve better—it's time for the government to do the right thing.
