DEMAND CONGRESS FINALLY FUND THE ACP PROGRAM

House of Representatives Speaker Johnson saw fit to refuse to bring the request from President Biden to fund the ACP Program to the floor for a vote. Because of his actions, millions of Americans are now being held hostage by internet providers. If they cannot afford to pay the astronomical monthly fees these providers want, low income and Senior Citizens cannot access the internet. Being able to access the internet in this day and age is a necessity NOT a luxury. I am being told that if I want to continue having the same type of internet connection I had while a beneficiary of the ACP Program that I will have to pay the provider a whopping $73.99 a month! As a Senior Citizen on a fixed income paying this fee to access the internet is a blatantly unattainable goal. My provider also claims they will not honor the $9.85 a month benefit I have with Lifeline. There are no competitors in my area that offer a lower internet connection fee. It is time the House of Representatives brought the request to fund the ACP Program to the floor for a vote. All Americans should have access to the internet.
