To ensure that the rights of innocoent pets & animals are protected and that as a pet-owner, no one can order for your pet to be put to sleep without proper notification to you.

Please help be a voice for pets whose lives are "wrongfully taken.

I am an individual animal rescuer and on August 10, 2012, I traveled from my home in Jackson, MS to Parrish, Alabama to help a friend rescue abandoned and neglected pets.  I rescued Coal, a 4 month old little puppy who unfortunately was diagnosed with parvo.

I entrusted Coal's care and treatment with Animal Emergency & Referral Center (AERC) (Affiliate of Mississippi State University), and stayed with him for many long hours throughout the nights during his 3 weeks of treatment.  When Coal was well enough to be discharged from ICU, I brought him home with me for a week to search for a suitable and safe foster home for him until he tested negative for parvo and I could transfer him to my primary treating veterinarian for further care.

At the recommendation of the Dr. J. Darrell Phillips, Hospital Administrator, I entrusted Coal to be fostered by a staff member of AERC, Dee Hall, who had helped with Coal's treatment and care during his hospitalization.  The agreement provided for Dee Hall to care for Coal until he tested negative for parvo and safely return him to me so that he could obtain further treatment.

On September 15, 2012, I notified Dr. J. Darrell Phillips in writing (and on other occasions prior to then), that I was ready to pick my puppy Coal up, after I had been notified by Dee Hall that he had tested negative for parvo.

On October 6, 2012, I learned that without prior knowledge to AERC's Hospital's Administrator, Dee Hall ordered for my precious Coal to be put to sleep without proper notification to me, and without following any necessary protocol of her employer or Mississippi State University Veterinary School.  From information I have obtained Dee Hall's reason for having Coal's life terminated was that she "thought" he was becoming aggressive.

Please help be a voice for Coal, in his honor, and all pets and their owners, to bring much needed change so that no one will have to suffer this heartbreak and tragedy, especially at the hands of a professional in the field of care taking for pets and animals.

Thank you.

Belief in change for all pawed angels, Angela
