Save the Albatross!

The majestic and mysterious albatross has fired the imaginations of poets and biologists through the ages. Little is known about this amazing bird that spends most of its life drifting on air currents above arctic seas. Now, though, albatrosses and petrels are threatened by global warming and fishing lines. The albatross can survive for hours in the air, but when he swoops down for a meal, he can easily become tangled in a fishing line and die trying to free himself. Please join me in asking that Congress sign into law the Albatross and Petrel Conservation Act of 2016 recently introduced by Alan Lowenthal.

To the United States Congress:

It's time for you to take action to save albatrosses and petrels. These amazing and beautiful birds have two strikes against them. They are in terrible danger of becoming fatally tangled in fishing lines. At the same time, their species is also vulnerable due to degradation of their arctic breeding grounds. Please sign into law the Albatross and Petrel Conservation Act of 2016 recently introduced by Alan Lowenthal.
