Tell Walgreens - No plastic bags in the pharmacy

Walgreens in FL and AZ has centralized pharmacy operations and in so doing, created a system whereby all individual prescriptions are placed in sealed plastic bags with patient information printed on them that cannot be recycled.  This is resulting in millions of additional plastic bags going into landfills, our rivers and oceans.  It is another environmental blow as well as just being plain wasteful.
Please join me in signing the attached petition to get the "green" back in Walgreens.
We, the undersigned, want to have the "green" put back in Walgreens.

Since Walgreens has centralized pharmacy operations in Florida and Arizona, plastic bags are being used to deliver each individual prescription.  These bags are not recyclable, contrary to claims made by the Walgreens' customer service department .  And if pharmacy operations are centralized in other states, the impact will multiply exponentially.

Because these plastic bags serve only one purpose, to get a prescription to the local pharmacy, then home with the patient and into the trash, we in good conscience can no longer support Walgreens pharmacy operations or any Walgreens store or product until this harmful practice is stopped.  This practice is leading to millions of non-biodegradable bags being entered into our landfills, rivers and oceans creating major stress for our health, environment and wildlife.

Please put the "green" back in Walgreens and end this wasteful practice.  A solution could be to use the new vegetable based, biodegradable bags or return to using paper bags that are at least recyclable.

Thank you.
