We the undersigned, are in favor of the City of Atlanta issuing a Special Use Permit or Re-Zoning Tract 7, Pod D within the Princeton Lakes Development in order for WaterSki Atlanta, Inc. to move forward with the development of a water sports venue and publc access walking trail around Princeton Lake.
Since the spring fed, 15 acre Princeton Lake has been permitted a Detention Pond, the lake and surrounding property have become a dumping ground for trash as well as a popular location for various other illegal activities that a well hidden and unmanaged piece of property close to the City of Atlanta seems to attract.
WaterSki Atlanta, Inc. has obtained a long term lease from the property owners to operate a competitive water ski site as well as a Cable Wake Park on Princeton Lake and wants to turn the property around the lake into a community park.
The park will include a public access trail that encircles the entire lake for the local community to enjoy. Park benches will be installed along the shoreline as well as gazebos. A covered pavilion with barbeque grills will be built that can be used by residents of the Princeton Lakes Development for events such as birthday parties and family reunions.
The City of Atlanta needs to issue a Special Use Permit or Re-Zone the entire 29 acre lot in order to move forward with the development of the water sports venue and Public Park around Princeton Lake.
We are in favor of WaterSki Atlanta, Inc. developing the 29 acre lot (Tract 7, Pod D) within the Princeton Lakes Development and we believe:
it will be a positive commercial enhancement to the area and the entire Princeton Lakes Development.
that retail and residential groups within the Princeton Lakes Development will receive a positive benefit from the development of the Princeton Lake property.
that this type of private water sports venue has a large demand for all of the Metro Atlanta area due to the overcrowding of public waterways and limited access to water sports due to the high costs associated with boating.
if WaterSki Atlanta, Inc cannot gain a Special Use Permit or have the property re-zoned for Outdoor Recreation and move forward with the development of a water sports venue and a public park, that the Princeton Lake property will once again become an overgrown eyesore for the community and become a dumping ground for trash as well as a habitat for multiple illegal activities to place.
Thank you for you time and consideration to address this issue.
