Plea to Dr Younus to stop forced resignation of teacher by students
I am starting this petition in light of a gripping personal situation. A dear friend of mine, a dedicated teacher, recently faced forced resignation over differences in political opinion. Now, another challenge is at our doorstep as some students engage in strongarm tactics, pressuring a colleague of mine to resign simply over dissatisfaction with their grades. This gross misuse of influence is attempting to undermine the professional autonomy of educators, a practice that starts a dangerous precedent.
Understandably now Bangladesh is facing political unrest with a critical law and order situation. While most of the political appointments such as VC, ProVC, Hall Provosts and proctorial bodies at public universities have already been resolved by voluntary resignations, now students increasingly claiming further resignations of non political appointments such as faculty Dean, Chairman, Institute heads etc without giving any reasonable cause. we deeply condemn this undue pressure of student protesters taking advantage of the political situation and fulfilling personal agenda.
Unjustified and forced resignations not only disrespect the years of hard work teachers invest into educating the next generation, but they also contribute to an unstable learning environment.
In the spirit of fairness, justice, and respect for the teaching profession, we implore the Chief adviser of the newly formed Interim government Dr Muhammad Younus to put a stop to the forced resignations based on unjust students' claims. Teachers should not have to leave their jobs under duress for simply differing in political views or being strict with their principles.
