Help Ben the Bear and Other Animals - Close Down Spruce Have Zoo

Experts agree that this roadside zoo is unsafe and animals are housed in facilities which do not satisfy even the basic biological and behavioural needs.

Zoocheck has made several attempts to get help for the animals at Spruce Haven Zoo in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario but no agency has yet been willing to do anything to deal with the serious problems that are ongoing at this roadside zoo.

Zoocheck has offered to relocate all of the animals to sanctuaries where the animals can live our the remainder of their lives in good facilities.

We the undersigned urge the Mayor and Council of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to move forward with a ban on zoos in the city as soon as possible and ensure that Spruce Haven Zoo is no longer able to keep the animals given that they have had several years to improve the facilities but have failed to do so.
