There have been complaints against fishermen filed by park users against fishing at Ala Moana Beach Park. The park is wide and large enough to accommodate all sorts of activities. Fishing is very popular at the park now due to the school of baitfish (halalu) that has recently been observed there. This is a seasonal occurrence that happens every year but typically not inside the park. Fishing has always been a way of life in Hawaii. We should not be limited to where and when we can fish. The park is made to be enjoyed by EVERYONE. Not just swimmers surfers and beach goers. But we also all have the same responsibility of keeping the park clean and usable for all. The school is not large and it doesn't limit other people from still enjoying the park. There is a lot of room to still swim and enjoy park amenities by all park users.
