How can a human being become so wicked that they would torture baby animals?

"A Provo, Utah man is facing animal cruelty charges after police say a witness saw him throw two kittens out of his car's passenger window while driving down Freedom Boulevard.
"Last week, police say a man was driving along Freedom Blvd. when he saw another man, later identified as 59-year-old Robert Earl Corliss, throw the kittens from his car. ...
"Police eventually caught up with Corliss, who was still being following by the witness.
"After pulling Corliss over, police questioned him about the allegations, which he denied.
"Police were able to locate one of the kittens, who died from its injuries. The other kitten was not found," reported CBS.
People who do things like this to animals must be punished.
Senator Bernie Sanders has been a long-term advocate for animal rights, and has co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation to protect endangered species, as well as to combat animal cruelty.
