The Meadowlands State Fair opens on June 21. Please contact some of the major sponsors listed below and let them know that they are sponsoring a venue that hires two companies (Rosaire's Racing Pigs, and Commerford and Sons) that exploit and in the case of Commerford and Sons, abuse innocent animals. Commerford and Sons, which offers elephant rides to paying customers, has been cited many times by the USDA for animal abuse violations. Please feel free to use the sample letter below, or you can politely write something in your own words to let them know that sponsoring a venue that hires companies that exploit and abuse animals is not good.

"I don't know if you are aware that the Meadowlands State Fair, of which (company name) is a sponsor, continues to hire two companies that exploit and in one case abuse animals. One "attraction" that they have, at the Fair, is pig races, which are run by Rosaire's Racing Pigs, and the other "attraction" are elephant rides which are operated by Commerford and Sons traveling zoo. Commerford and Son's have been cited several times by the USDA for various animal abuse violations. PETA, as well as other animal welfare groups have been trying to get the elephants removed from Commerford's care and sent to a proper sanctuary. I don't think that (company name) is the type of company that would knowingly sponsor an event that invites companies that exploit innocent, sensitive animals."
