Ban the tv licence

We all have to pay the BBC over a hundred pound every year for a tv licence I think this is a joke since over the years much of this money has been paid to people who don't deserve it like Jimmy Savile, plus most of us pay for cable or satellite tv receivers the cost should be included in this. It is misleading it is not a tv licence but a licence for 1 company if I never use BBC channels why should I pay why can't they gain revenue through adverts like every other channel.
