The Investigation into the Disappearance of Karlie Guse

Karlie Lain Guse went missing from her home in California on October 13th, 2018.
Shes missing under mysterious/suspicious circumstances. She was last seen in her home in Chalfant by her step mom and dad, whom she lives with. She went missing from Mono County California. Mono County Sheriff's has the jurisdiction and took on Karlie's case.

This petition is to urge Mono County Sheriff's office and Sheriff Braun to work with the FBI, other agencies, the Private Investigators, or hand over Karlies case to another more equipped and funded law enforcement agency.

To start on October 13, 2018 Karlie Guse was disoriented and wasn't in her right state of mind. It is not known if she walked away or was taken away from her home or the area. They never issued a endangered missing alert or at risk alert. Karlie met the criteria for both. They never went door to door, bc a lady living in the area said no one ever knocked on her door. It was days later that 3 witnesses appeared to have seen someone walking around who looked possibly like Karlie. They waited until 9 hours had gone by to check her house. They only walked thru her house for 5 minutes and didnt treat anything as a possible crime had occured. It is standard protocol that in all missing cases the scene should be the first thing walked thru, everything should be handled as if a crime occured until evidence shows different(per California missing person guide).

Next they were offered help by the Mono County DA, Inyo County Sheriff's and Bishop PD with investigating or assisting in the case. They were all turned down. They lied on a fb post saying they were never offered help from the Mono County DA. I have an email from the DA that proves they offered help, but were refused. They havent kept any working relationship with the FBI, so they refuse to take Karlies case. The FBI needs co-operation from Law Enforcement handling the case, or a crime has to occure across state lines. The have only met with them 1 time for less then an hour, outside of getting electronics and interviews (not interrogations) from all parties thats been the FBIs only invovlement. 2 Private investigators and an organization were hired, they've only met with them less then an hour. Theyve since cut off all communications to all outside help.

Next they lied on their Facebook post, saying they are in contact with Karlies mother.  Its been more then 5 months and have only been in contact a couple of times.

They have also leaked information pertaining to Karlies case.  Such as when warrants were being executed, alerting the parents ahead of time when bringing cadaver dogs and allowing possible evidence to be handled by civilians. The scene wasn't processed or vehicles until much later. They also allowed another elected individual to insert themselves and handle searching the area. This individual removed possible evidence and took it home to be looked by their spouse. It was then handed over to a former officer to send off to get tested. It was then returned bc the place didnt have a way to test it. It has since disappeared and is no where to be found. It was said blood, scat samples, a baby tooth from Karlie Guse as well as hair was sent off. It was said to be enough evidence to get a death certificate issued.  It was also known to these said people 2 weeks before any family memebers were to be notified. Who know if it was false or not, bc nothing more has ever been mentioned about this evidence.

The interview and Facebook post by the Mono County Sheriff's office said they were/are waiting on a phone call. They also made a post stating that Karlie go to the nearest Law Enforcement agency and they will pick her up and bring her home. They've addressed trolls and social media, talking about a trial by social media. They've never held a press conference. They waited months to make any public statement other then Facebook.

 

They've not tried to get Karlies face in public that been her family, friends and the general public (also called trolls). Their Instagram dont have 1 picture of Karlie or any information on her. Their twitter or Facebook hasnt been updated on Karlie Guse since January 31st.

Meanwhile the person last with Karlie has admitted to lying, has changed timelines, has made over 30 lives videos which are sketchy. Made strange Facebook posts,  has said over and over Karlie was abducted,  but never once addressed abductors or pleaded for Karlies safe return. Shes pushed abduction from day 1, yet tells people not to use the word abducted.

The last persons to see Karlie as well as all others in Karlies life needs to be investigated. Yet not once have they checked Karlies mothers house. Sex offenders and these witnesses also need to be checked.

As a law enforcement agency they have a sworn duty to do everything possible to bring Karlie home.

Its never to late to do the right thing. Please develop a relationship with these other agencies, and the PIs that are willing to help. Or if you dont have the nessary funds or experience let another agency take over.
