LET STUDENTS OF BOYD MIDDLE SCHOOL HAVE MORE FREEDOM

To promote a more engaging and responsible learning environment, students at Boyd Middle School should be granted more freedom in the following ways:

    1. **Flexible Seating & Study Spaces** – Allow students to choose where they sit in classrooms and provide designated quiet areas for independent or group study.
    2. **Open Campus Lunch** – Permit students to eat outside in designated areas or, for older students, have limited off-campus lunch privileges.
    3. **Student-Led Clubs & Activities** – Encourage students to create and manage their own extracurricular clubs with minimal staff oversight.
    4. **Dress Code Relaxation** – Revise the dress code to allow more student expression while maintaining appropriateness.
    5. **Choice-Based Learning** – Give students options in certain assignments, projects, and electives to align with their interests.
    6. **Hall Pass Autonomy** – Implement a trust-based system for students to take necessary breaks without requiring strict hall passes.
    7. **Technology Use** – Permit responsible personal device use for educational purposes during appropriate times.

By implementing these changes, Boyd Middle School can cultivate a sense of trust, independence, and responsibility among its students, ultimately improving their educational experience.
