Hi, my name is Soraya Darvish I'm a fifth grader. I live in Milton near the Hoosic Club.
I recently learned that the Milton Hoosic Club has recently signed a purchase and sale agreement with a developer without consulting with the Milton community at large. Many citizens of Milton feel that they haven't been given a fair chance to have a say on what should be done with the Hoosic Club.
The Milton Hoosic Club plays a significant role in our community. It has been around since 1891 and has served as a place for social gatherings, special events, local school meetings, Milton First Fridays Cotillion class, and more! It's one of the only remaining gathering spots in the town of Milton.
As a kid, I have limitted resources but I do want my voice to be heard.
This petition is requesting that the Board of the Hoosic Club should cancel the current sale to the developer and allow the community to have a say in what happens to the Hoosic Club including letting community members bid on the purchase of the club in a public and transparent way.
