Stop the sexual abuse of women and children in nudist camps across our country.

As a child I was sexually abused and sexually harassed mainly in two nudist camps that my parents joined and visited for years in the small northwestern Indiana town of Roselawn, Indiana. The first nudist camp that I was sexually molested in was called Naked City nudist camp in Roselawn, Indiana and was owned by Dick Drost, an extermely sexually abusive man. Dick Drost had a massive glass roundhouse constructed in the very front of his camp. The roundhouse which he and his elderly parents lived in was constructed of one way glass so that the people inside the roundhouse could see and photograph the nude women and nude children walking around outside, but the people outside could not see the people inside. He then had a massive cement sundial contstructed next to the roundhouse where he held nude for profit public shows featuring nude adult women and nude female children who ranged in anges from infancy to preteen years. He allowed anyone who would pay admission at his camp's gate, to drive onto his camp, park and gather around the sundial, surrounding the nude adult women and nude children. All of the men who surrounded the sundial had at least one camera. These male audience members would spend the entire day stand up, madly snappping photos of nude people, pushing forward, developing erections and at times openly masturbating. There was no police protection at Naked City, just like there is no police protection at the Ponderosa Sun Club. As a child at Naked City I witnessed these foul abusive shows many times. They terrified me and sicken me. Dick Drost let anyone in his camp who paid. He had no screening process. Every weekend Dick Drost allowed anyone in who paid at the gate. These men would pay at the gate, drive onto the grounds, often merely driving around snapping photos of nude women and children.

When I was eight-years-old my parents left Naked City and joined the Ponderosa Sun Club owned at that time by Harvey and Irene Schmitt. The Schmitt's adult son, Tom, his wife, Pinky and their daughters, Scarlett and Dawn lived on the austere grounds of the Ponderosa. From the first day I arrived at the Ponderosa I was sexually harassed and molested. Pinky Schmitt spent most of her summer days waiting in a homemade wooden guardhouse out in the Ponderosa's driveway just beyond the camp's gate for men to drive up and pay and have her let them in. If Pinky was not in the guardhouse, there was a buzzer that the men could ring and it would sound throughout the camp, summoning Pinky to the gate. Pinky never screened anyone these men. Many of these men would drive down the dirt roads of the camp to the pool, where the would park, some would disrobe, stroll around the cement walkways of the pool, gawking at us children, developing erections, at times masturbating and taking unwanted photos of us children. There needs to be a screening process for nudist camp owners, members and visitors. These unknown and unscreened people should have to submit to the same reasonable background checks as daycare workers, nurses, teachers and doctors do. I hope that people will sign this petition and help bring about new laws requiring nudist camp visitors, members and owners to submit to these reasonable background checks.
