The murder of Maria Felita Madera-Rodriguez once shocked the city of Bakersfield, California but has it now been FORGOTTEN?
Maria Madera-Rodriguez was just 17-years old when she was murdered in the most degrading way possible. On August 2nd, 1991, Maria's lifeless body was discovered near a canal in Lost Hills, left brutally beaten, dragged, and shot twice; a depictable act on humankind!
In 1991, the high-profile case rocked Bakersfield's city and was embedded in its history; however, we still have NO JUSTICE!
Now, 30 years later, we call for a criminal investigation to be opened and for criminal prosecution to take place immediately. NO family should have to wait over two decades for answers. We want a fair trial and fair justice for Maria Madera-Rodriguez. Additionally, we want appropriate action taken against the perpetrator who stole our beloved away.
At our urging, please sign this petition to prompt the act of the Kern County Sheriff's Department and the Kern County District Attorney's Office, ATTN: Cynthia Zimmer, to aid in the process.
Let us show our outrage at the concept that many leads may have been
forgotten or destroyed due to the improper handling of the homicide investigation in 1991.
We are determined to bring awareness to all injustices alike and break the silence that was purposely brought on Maria.
Read our message and share it along: We will no longer allow systematic barriers to stand in our way of JUSTICE. No family should have to plea 30 years after the death of their family member for answers. Maria, you will not be forgotten-
