I am a relatively new beer drinker — it's taken me well into adulthood to appreciate the stuff. But the only beer I really like drinking is Pabst Blue Ribbon. Which is why I was so bummed to learn this morning that they
may cease to exist!
Please sign my petition if you really want PBR to stick around!
The whole thing is due to a legal battle between them and their current parent company, MillerCoors, who has been brewing PBR for the last 20 years. But when their contract ends in 2020, MillerCoors has no plans to renew it so they can push what would be their competitors out of business. This legal battle is about to get messy and they need to hear from us — their loyal customers!
PBR has a long legacy, from being the preferred beer for a lot working class midwesterners to its more modern revival as the trendy cheap beer for hipsters, a lot of people are going to be sad if it's no longer brewed.
I live in Chicago and it's truly a center piece in pretty much every dive bar around. Also, it's very cheap, which is ideal for a young person like me.
So, who's with me? Sign on to save PBR!
